Ras Al Khaimah , UAE | Record Visitors in H1 Amid Booming Tourism

Ras Al Khaimah, the largest city and capital of the Emirate with same name in the UAE, located in the northwestern part of the territory along the coast of the Arabian Gulf, a centre famed for its captivating landscapes, refreshing coastlines and terracotta desert planes, boasting a history of more than 7000 years, the successor to the iconic port and trading hub of Julfar, a key harbour in the trading Arab network in the Middle Ages achieved record visitors in H1 amid tourism boom. 

In the first half of 2025, the Emirate welcomed a record of 654.00 tourists, its highest ever for a six month period. According to the Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority (RAKTDA) the figure marks a 6% year - on - year increase in arrivals and a 9% boost in tourism revenue, highlighting its momentum as a leading and fast - growing destination in the region.

The city is fast emerging as one of the UAE’s top getaway spots, its success is driven by a combination of strategic investments, sustainable development, and a diversified economy. In addition the Emirate has focused on attracting tourists, fostering a robust business environment, and prioritaizing tourism and cultural preservation. 

With more flights, new hotels, and a growing calendar of events driving a sharp rise in visitors, Ras Al Khaimah benefits from a strong governance framework, and political stability, making it an attractive destination for investors and businesses.

All these factors combined with the Emirate’s commitment to innovation and sustainable growth, position Ras Al Khaimah as a rising star in the region. 

A further key driver linked to these relevant  performance was undoubtedly expanding international air connectivity with new routes to Al Khaimah International Airport unlocked significant growth especially from : 

•    Romania - + 65% 
•    Poland - + 56%
•    Uzbekistan - + 47%
•    Belarus - + 30%


Visitors numbers also hit half – year records from other countries such as : 

 •    India - + 25% 
•    China - + 9.2%
•    Russia - + 7%
•    The United Kingdom - + 5%

The city and emirate is actively scaling its hotel infrastructure with plans to more than double its room count by 2030. In H1 2025 alone, several high - profile projects by leading brands were confirmed and they are : 

•    Four Seasons Resort & Residences Ras Al Khaimah 
•    Fairmont Al Marjan Island
•    Taj Wellington Mews Al Marjan Island 
•    NH Collection Ras Al Khaimah Al Marjan Island

The newly opened Rove Al Marjan Island added further diversity to the Emirate’s accommodation mix, targeting budget – conscious and lifestyle travellers.

RAKTDA CEO, Raki Philips said that these half - year achievements are a clear testatement to the strength of Ras Al Khaimah’s tourism offering adding that, every milestone contitrubute to the Emirate goal of welcoming 3.5 million annual visitors by 2030.
