The Club at Steyn City, located within the exclusive Steyn City residential lifestyle estate in Fourways, Johannesburg in the Gauteng province of South Africa, conveniently situated near Lanseria International Airport and approximately 18 km north of Sandton, will host the inaugural LIV Golf South Africa Tournament from 19 to 22 March 2026, an international field including Cam Smith, Bryson DeChambeau, Jon Rahm, and local champion Louis Oosthuizen is set to compete, spotlighting the country’s golf infrastructure, hospitality and wider tourism offering.
This Nicklaus Design championship course located at 1 Clubhouse Lane, Riverglen, Midrand set within a 90 hectares parkland estate, featuring an 18 - hole, 72 - par, is known foe its immaculate, wide kikuyu fairways and 75 bunkers. The course is often described as South Africa’s answer to Augusta, it is a cart - only, challenging layout that hosts Sunshine Tour and DP World Tour events.
South African Tourism said the partnership aims to attract international visitors and encourage longer stays, with the experience planned across the four days, including food and beverages zones, a lively 16th “Party Hole” and daily live music.
The event is expected to benefit local hospitality, transport, events and creative sectors, supporting destination visibility, visitor spending and tourism in an area offering several attractions.
