The Secretary together with the Mayor of Hidalgo, Adriana Margarita Garza inaugurated the so-called 2024 climbing season in Potrero Chico, famous, big wall climbing situated 3.0 kilometres from the town of Hidalgo within Sierra del Fraile, a protected area consisting in a geological formation of limestone, cliffs and spires well known all around the country.

The climbing season in Potrero Chico symbolizes the joint effort of the Ministry of Tourism and the municipality of Hidalgo to offer a safe and high - quality space that attracts visitors from around the world.

It is worth noting that Potrero Chico nicknamed "The Little Corral" is one of the the favourite destinations for high - performance climbers with a large range of different climbs, most of them in the 5.8 to 5.13 grade, the kind of climbing can range from steep overchanging faces to easy slabs, a climbing paradise in Northern Mexico and there are ideal weather conditions and high - quality climbing routes.
