Piedmont - Valle d' Aosta – Italy | 46 Private Historic Residences Open to the Public

The ADSI, Association of Historical Italian Residences which brings together the owners of historic properties throughout Italy through the Piedmont and Valle D'Aosta section, north-western regions of the country launches a new initiative, a project that aims to expand the tourist offer in these territories, opening 46 private historic residences to the public.

The visits will be managed directly by ADSI Piemonte and Valle D'Aosta and Fiavet Piemonte, regional body of the federation of associations of travel and tourism companies, with the visits that will be accessible by appointment and according to programs coordinated by the affiliated travel agencies.

This project represents an expansion of incoming tourism by offering exclusive and niche experiences to discover residences boasting a historical and cultural value of the two Italian regions by opening to the public in structures that were not normally accessible and can now be visited giving the opportunity to get to know them at 360 degrees.

The project that is forged on the name "Dimore Amiche del Piemonte" includes historic residences 54% of which are located in municipalities with less than 20,000 inhabitants and 29% in centers with less than 5,000 inhabitants.

These percentages represent a capillarity that allows the public to get to know small villages up close, many of which are outside standard or high tourist itineraries, allowing an enhancement also avoiding the infamous phenomenon of overtourism which has afflicted Italy like other countries with the great opportunity to discover and appreciate unique beauties with a high historic value.

The President of the Regional Council Davide Nicco, declared that the opening of the residences represents grat potential for economic and cultural development.

The Vice President of Adsi and President of the Piedmont and Valle d’ Aosta section, Alessandro Gozsztonyi highlighted how these homes are custodians of history and art,but also centres of economic and social vitality for local communities.

About these historic residences th 40% are castles, 20% are villas, while the remaining 40% include historic buildings and prestigious homes. In 80% of cases, it is also possible to visit the historic parks, an element that further enriches the offer.
