Meliá Hotels International S.A., renowned Spanish hotel chain founded in 1956 and based in Palma de Mallorca and tennis superstar Rafael Nadal are bringing their lifestyle hotel brand Zel to Punta Cana, famed destination located on the easternmost tip of the Dominican Republic well known for its 32 kilometres stretch of beaches with turoquoise and emerald waters of the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean.
Expected to open on 12th December 2024, Zel Punta Cana is part of of the lifestlye brand Zel announced in late 2022 by Rafael Nadal and CEO of Meliá Hotels International Gabriel Escarrer, a joint venture between these two global brands both with Mallorcan roots which aims to reach consistent international growth and highlighting the essence of the Mediterranean character.
Zel Punta Cana is a rebranding of the Garden Suites by Meliá, an all – inclusive resort whicg has undergone a renovation, situated along Avenida Alemania, a short distance from Cocotal Golf & Country Club and Blast Aquafan Park providing 190 rooms with a variety of accommodation categories ranging in size from 796 to 2.152 square feet, including a two - bedroom Casa Zel Swim - Up suite with terrace and whirlpool.
The guests will have access to a large variety of culinary concepts with six restaurants including Mexican and Greek fusion cuisine, a Medterranean - style buffet, flavours from the Orient with a Japanese restaurant and a a beach club.
The Zel Punta Cana will provide other amenities such as five tennis courts, two swimming pool, a Spa, gym, meeting spaces a the property will offer special programmes via its Zel Club wellness and entertainment platform which will include day parties, festivals and curated weekend retreats.
The Zel Punta Cana is the Zel’s third property, following the brand’s 2022 launch in Mallorca in Calvià and the Zel Costa Brava located in Tossa de Mar in the province of Girona opened in 2023, and now in Dominican Republic elevating itself as the flag’s all inclusive resort of the brand.
