Aman Resorts | Expanding its Caribbean Presence with a New Ultraluxury Property in Exuma, The Bahamas

The luxury hospitality brand enters into the Bahamas with Amancaya, a new $260 million resort and residence development in Exuma, a district of the Bahamas, consisting of over 365 islands and cays famous for their sapphire - blue - waters, home to secluded footprint - free beaches, deserted cays, and ultra - exclusive resorts.

The property will be the third in Aman's Caribbean portfolio joining the Amanera in the Dominican Republic and the Amanyara in Turks and Caicos.

According to the company, Amancaya will be set across two private cays and feature a 36 - room luxury hotel as well as branded residences with plans also call for a marina, beach club, an Aman Spa and multiple dining venues.

The development is led in partnership with Swiss investors and Swiss entrepreneur, philanthropist and ocean advocate, Dora Bertarelli. No target date for the resort's opening was given.

In a statement, Aman Resorts Chairman and CEO, Vlad Voronin called the brand's foray imto the Bahamas, a significant milestone, adding that Aman guests have long requested the presence of the group there.

In a separate press release, the Bahamas' Ministry of Tourism, Investment & Aviation welcomed the development, describing the project as a sign of strong investor confidence in the Bahamian tourism market. 

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism, Investment and Aviation for the Bahamas, Chester Cooper, added that Aman's ultraluxury lifestyle brand is a good fit for Exuma, and looking for the ground - breaking of this investment that will deliver meaningful, measurable long - term impact.

 The future opening of Amancaya is projected to create approximately 500 jobs, including 200 during construction and 300 permanent positions once operational.

Madrid, Spain | Atlético de Madrid Football Club is Looking for an Operator for its Future Hotel

Atlético de Madrid, a renowned professional football club based in the Spanish capital that plays its home games at the stadium Riyadh Air Metropolitano is looking for an operator for its future hotel

The Spanish club has hired Colliers International Group Inc., a Canada - based diversified professional services and investment management company to find a hotel operator to manage the future hotel of the Club that will built next to the stadium located at Avenida de Luis Aragonés, 4 in the Rosas neighbourhood, in the San Blas - Canillejas district, as confirmed to HOSTELTUR.

Although the Madrid City Council still has the proposal in the public exhibition phase, the club has begun the search for the best project for a 4- 5 star themed hotel.

According to El Confidencial, digital newspaper, specializing in economic, financial and political news, six months ago the club presented to the City Council a private initiative to transform the failed project of the Aquatic Center into a theme hotel, linked to the world of sports, music and entertainment.

As explained the newspaper, in this project the football club joined Oak View Group and Live Nation to give life to the Barsento SL company.

The partners not only want a hotel but also to build an auditorium for shows and concerts, and a space for cultural events, which will also need a specialized operator.

This initiative has aroused interest in the hotel sector, although there is still the possibility that the project will not move forward, since the Madrid City Council has the proposal in the public exhibition phase and could receive allegations.

 According to El Confidencial's sources, the tender led by Colliers contemplates that the agreement with the winner future operator will conditional on receiving the approval of the Adminstration.

Atlético de Madrid's intention, they say, is to have chosen the best project when the concession is obtained, which could take between six and eight months, and to start work at the end of this year or early 2026.

Nuevo León, Mexico | Leading Destination for Meetings and Events in Latin America

The Secretary of Tourism of Nuevo León, Maricarmen Martinez Villareal stressed that to achieve this growth the result is due to strategic alliances with the Monterrey Convention and OCV Monterrey Visitors Bureau to attract major events, including the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The Secretary stated that this segment of tourism represents a concrete opportunity for the state of Nuevo León, because it activates the value chain, promotes economic development and strengthens the national and international projections.

During this past 2024, the state received approximately 3.2 million tourists, of which 40% corresponded to the business tourism segment.

Like the World Cup, the state of Nuevo León confirming its position as a leading destination for meetings and events will host the World Football Summit, Fundiexpo GIFA Mexico, AHR Expo Mexico, the General Convention of the Apostolic Church of the Faith in Christ Jesus, as well as congresses of Ophthalmology, Nutrition, Dermatology, and Urban Transportation, among others.

The Director of the Tourism Trust stressed that the meeting industry due to the generation of events in the state regulates seasonality, since even Nuevo León has a better average hotel stay than Cancun.

KwaZulu - Natal, South Africa | New "Beach2Bush" Tourism Route Combining Inland Conservation Areas with Coastal Ecosystems Launched

KwaZulu - Natal, a South African province created in 1994, known for its stunning beaches, mountains and savannah populated by big game located in the southeast of the country, a land also highlighted by a long shoreline on the Indian Ocean celebrated the launch of a new "Beach2Bush" tourism route combining inland conservation areas with coastal ecosystems.

The "Beach2Bush tourism route" links Hluhluwe - Imfolozi Park, the oldest proclaimed nature reserve in Africa consisting of 960 square kilometres of hilly topography, 280 kilometres north of the coastal city of Durban with iSiangaliso Wetland Park, a huge protected area declared as a UNESCO World Heritage Site situated along the coast of South Africa's KwaZulu - Natal Province, that has as centrepiece the famous and vast Lake St.Lucia.

Liguria Region, Italy | Financial Contribution to Small Municipalities to Strengthen Territorial Identity and Quality of the Offer

The Regional Councilor for tourism and territorial marketing, Luca Lombardi said that with this intervention the Liguria region intends to strengthen the links between territorial identity and the quality of the toiurist offer with particular attention to small municipalities and inland areas. 

Preserving the past through historical events is the most authentic way to shape the future of the Ligurian communities and therefore supporting these initiatives means not only keeping alive the local traditions, but also to enhance the villages, seasonally adjust tourist flows and promote a cultural offer based on accessibility and sustainability.

The contribution will be granted to the extent of 50% of the eligible expenditure, up to a maximum of €5.000 per event.

All municipalities in Liguria that have organized or co – organized events of a historical oe traditional nature carried out for at least `15 years, even if not consecutive, from 1st June to 30 November 2025, will be able to apply.

Puerto Madryn, Argentina | Developing the Largest Underwater Park in the South of the Country

Puerto Madryn, a centre on the coast of northern Patagonia in the the province of Chubut, capital of the Viedma Department, protected by the Golfo Nuevo, a large bay formed by the Peninsula Valdés, important nature reserve which was listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1999 and the Punta Ninfa, a promontory on the Atlantic Ocean, known for its lighthouse and location of an important colony of elephant seals is developing the largest underwater park in southern Argentina.

This project contemplates the controlled sinking of boats to generate a unique attraction for diving through activities and instructures for all ages and sports levels.

In the first instance, the shipwreck of the ship Primavera that belonged to the yellow fleet that contributed to transforming Puerto Madryn into a reference destination in terms of underwater tourism has already been carried out.

The plan includes the sinking of six additional ships, which will be added to the Primavera in the coming months to complete the underwater park. According to the Governor of Chubut this initiative will consolidate the province as a leader in diving tourism and strengthen the local economy.

The operation was carried out with the collaboration of the Argentine Naval Prefecture and various provincial and municipal agencies, demonstrating the joinr commitment ro promote tourism in the region.

The Governor of Chubut Ignacio Torres, stressed the importance of this project because it will significantly boost tourism activity in the province and in the entire region, especially with regard to the activity of diving, which from now on will have a unique circuit in the world.

The Governor added that this initiative goes hand in hand with the circular and sustainable economy scheme that the province is carrying out throughout its territory, and that has allowed the institution to once again be a showcase and example in the world.

Puerto Madryn Underwater Park is one of Chubut's efforts to promote sustainable and diversified tourism development. With the construction of this complex, the province will be positioned as a first - class destination for adventure tourism in South America.
