Caffè Venezia-Chiusi | Exquisite Tastes of Tuscany.




Caffè Venezia is absolutely a great and perfect place in an iconic and fascinating town as Chiusi, to enjoy a pleasant break during an unforgettable visit of that monumental marvel with the chance to be delighted by the  exquisite tastes of Tuscany with a varied offer of delicious brunches and local plates many of them loyal to the the most traditional and typical gastronomy of that enchanting Italian Region well known to boast a culinary art of renowned prestige.

That pleasant and cosy Cafe-Restaurant is situated in one of the best corners of the ancient Clevsi,  old denomination of that secular shining pearl in the marvellous province of considered one of the cultural and historic cradles of the emblematic Etruscan civilisation which had in that site probably founded in the 8th century one of their most considerable strongholds.

That welcoming establishment is simply appropriate for its unique location located right halfway between  the wonderful Etruscan Museum and the superb Cathedral of San Secondiano in s charming  corner of Piazza Graziano da Chiusi, a splendid square next to the historic and emblematic column dated the Imperial Roman period on which capital you can admire the Coat of Arms of the legendary House of Medici symbol of that powerful and influential Florentine dynasty who wrote unforgettable historic pages between the 15th and 18th centuries but also famous for its endless disputes and clashes with some of its historic and eternal rivals such as Siena and Pisa.

 

You are also in the core and beating heart of  that relevant settlement which was a very strategic base of the Etruria which was later called Clusium when the Roman Empire expanded its domains further north of the capital conquering that land in the 3rd century BC during the times of Consul Quintus Fabius Maximum Rullianus and General Lucius Papirus Cursor starting also from there a massive colonisation all around the Central Italic Peninsula,

In that concrete point at the end of the 19th century was established a stylish three-story building highlighted by a cream tonality boasting in its fine layout  two lines of symmetrical rectangular windows with a charming arched doorway, retaining its original design and in which was opened  the  Caffè Venezia  classified as a historic hospitality & catering establishment  since its inception,nowadays managed by Mr. Stefano and Mrs. Giorgia, a very nice, kind couple with a great sense of hospitality and a superb customer service.

A small but welcoming cosy outdoor terrace is a further very appreciated detail because it permit to stay under the beloved Tuscan sun, facing that beautiful square with a view of some stylish Renaissance palaces established on the nearest street Via Porsenna. 

Once there you will have the opportunity to taste something very typical, traditional closely linked of the most delicious regional gastronomy well known for its genuine, delectable ingredients so famed because all it is divinely  homemade.

Eating well in that land is like a sacred code extremely rooted, all is fresh and that is the first phrase written in a sort of divine culinary book, words which perhaps were transmitted by the eminent Florentine poet  Dante Alighieri, father of the Italian language and major exponent of the literature of the late Middle Ages to some master chefs loyal to the finest  culinary art created in Tuscany to be loyal to the noble local traditions.
  
Once there nothing better than to start with a great Tuscan Bruschetta prepared with fresh tomatoes, the best and emblematic extra virgin olive oil produced in the province or in alternative try the distinctive Bruschettone, a big brother of the previous speciality, simply superb for presentation, aspect and size.

Do not miss to combine to those delights the traditional Tagliata or Tagliere d' Affettati, consisting in a wooden tray garnished by delicious ham,salame Toscano pancetta, cheese,  rucola or in alternative try the delectable Ciaccino, a sort of excellent focaccia filled with ham, mozzarella cheese and aubergines or also the Ciabatta with ham and Edammer cheese or a Baguette prepared with the same dairy product combined with spicy salame.

Other options are the delicious and famed Piadina, the Genovese or in alternative you can have an exquisite  Carpaccio di Bresaola, Insalata Caprese, Insalata Mista, mixed salad.


Continuing your meal very recommended are the excellent Ravioli with ricotta, spinach and tomato sauce,other options are the great Tagliatelle with  porcini mushrooms,the fine  Gnocchi 4 Formaggi with Blue cheese, tastefully Tortellini with ham and cream, the typical and spicy Penne Arrabbiata or the famed Lasagna too.

In addition in the list you will have the chance to choose a large variety of Pizzas and Caffè Venezia also provides Children's Menu, a detail very appreciated by families with young.

In the meantime during your meal you can admire the enchanting fascination of Chiusi around you in excellent company of a bottle of supreme fine wine also in that case the selection is simply magnificent.



The establishment offers the best with superb Chianti DOC, Rosso Di Montefalco, Fontarronco, ,Brunello di Montalcino, Gallo Nero but also Rosso di Montepulciano, Vermentino di Toscana, Passerino,smooth wines, highly palatable, with texture and body.

  products of superior quality coming from the best local cellars and many others from the nearest Val D´Orcia, a valley which produces selected fine wines of elite and the choice is  furthermore highlighted by others from different provenance.


In addition if you love a wonderful sparking one you will have the opportunity to taste a sublime Prosecco di Valdobbiadene DOCG or why not a Contarini Valsé Spumante Secco.

Apart that notable is in addition the selection of numerous cocktails offered such as Negroni, Spritz Aperol / Campari, Bellini, Margarita, Gin Tonic, Garibaldi, Mojito and Caipirinha among others.

A sweet homemade ice cream all year is another special detail of the establishment something which always call the desire of everybody and also in that Stefano and Giorgia are ready to satisfy you with a vast range of tastes in a very ample variety.


Some of them have peculiar but at the same time captivating and emblematic names such as Moro di Venezia, Mascalzone Latino paying homage to the famous yacht racing teams which participated to the prestigious America´s Cup and in case you want to try something of simply special and unique in its kind you could have an ice cream with honey and gorgonzola cheese, a speciality of Caffè Venezia.

After your meal simply great to finish with an aromatic coffee choosing among  Espresso, Corretto, Macchiato, Cappuccino, Americano, Doppio, but also Marocchino, Ginseng, the choice is ample including you can taste a sweet, delicious Hot Chocolate.
