This summer a line will open between Nice, the famous city of the French Riviera and the capital of Lombardy, Milan, a journey that can take place on several dates between 3rd August and 1st September.
The branch of Trenitalia, “Treni Turistici Italiani”reported the news on its website after an announcement in February with in addition an information linked to another project to develop the equivalent of the train of the wonders of the Maralpine between Turin and Nice/Ventimiglia via Breil-sur-Roya.
This line that will connect Nice to Milan named "Espresso Riviera" was developed by FS Treni Turistici Italiani, a new branch of Trenitalia also specialized in the circulation of tourist and historic trains.
The train will run only on Saturdays and Sundays with departures along the Nice, Monte-Carlo, Monaco, Menton route then continuing in Ligurian territory with stops in Sanremo, Savona and Genoa.
On the two days indicated, the train will leave Milan at 07.35 and will arrive in Nice at 13.58, while in the opposite direction, always on the same days, the departure from Nice will take place at 17.12 with arrival in Milan at 23.40.
Tickets are not yet available but will be on sale starting from July 20th on website of Treni Turistici Italiani.
According to news reported by Le Figaro the cost is € 44.50 for a one-way ticket in second class and € 59.50 in first class. Passengers will be offered a range of services for luggage transport and catering service.
On the website, the railway branch indicates that the train will continue to run after September 1st but will have as terminal destination the Ligurian station of Ventimiglia on the French-Italian border.
