Costa Rica | Record July for Incoming Tourism with an Increase of 7.2%

 

Costa Rica,  fascinating Central American country covered by rainforests with magnificent coastlines on the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea known for its biodiversity, idyllic beaches and volcanoes, recorded 239.368 visitors in July of the current year who reached the country by air, a highly significant figure that represents an increase of 7.2% compared to 2023.

This increase places July 2024 as the most outstanding in recent years compared to the same period of previous years in terms of visitor records.

Of these 239.368 visitors, 162.543 entered from Juan Santamaria International Airport, representing 68% of the total, an increase of 2.3% compared to July 2023.

Another reported figure is the 76.779 tourists who arrived in Costa Rica through Daniel Oduber International Airport, a data that is equivalent of an increment of 31.9% compared to the same period in 2023.

The Minister of Tourism commented that analyzing the international arrivals of tourists by air and the foreign exchange receipts they are generating, there is no doubt that Costa Rica's tourism sector is experiencing an exceptional time with records affecting both visits and revenues.

The effectiveness of the strategies for promoting priority markets is indisputable and what must be celebrated is undoubtedly prosperity and opportunity for the entire country.
