Cancún, famous Mexican city, a very important destination on the Yucatán Peninsula bordering the Caribbean Sea, well known for its sandy beaches, vibrant nightlife, several comfortable resorts and the most populous centre in the state of Quintana Roo has inaugurated its first official and fully inclusive beach ideal for people with disabilities in its municipal terms.
This beach is Playa Las Perlas, one of the best equipped beaches for families with small children along the coast, favourite hangout for locals situated between Playa Langosta and Playa del Niño close by the bustling Kuculcan Boulevard and not far from the lively Plaza las Americas.
The Mayor of Cancún, Ana Paty Peralta declared that it is a pride to have with the beauty of the sea that bathes the city a beach accessible to all knowing that people with disabilities face many obstacles and it is the responsibility of society to take them down one by one.
With actions like that Cancún and the local society are closing those gaps of inequality, ensuring that all all people, regardless of their circumstances, can enjoy these wonderful spaces without barriers.
As additional, detailed note it has been reported that access to the water will be provided by three wheelchairs, two amphibious chairs, two amphibious loungers, two amphibious walkers and mats, all of which will be accompanied by various ramps, handrails and separate bathrooms.
