Costa Crociere S.p.A., operating and marketed as Costa Crociere, renowned Italian company dedicated to all cruise activities wholly owned subsidiary of Carnival Corporation & plc since 2000, founded in 1854 and headquartered in Genoa has launched a preview of the 2026 bookable itineraries with scheduled tours of 6 of the ships in the fleet in the Mediterranean Sea and Northern Europe.
Costa Fortuna, famous cruise ship built in 2003 on the same platform as Carnival Cruise Lines' Destiny class inspired by the Italian steamships of the past built by Fincantieri at the Sestri Ponente Shipyard will be positioned for cruises in Greece and Turkey that will be carried out from May to October departing from the Greek capital Athens.
The formula proposed by Costa Crociere is the one corresponding to the flight + cruise tourist package available from all major European countries including Italy.
In a note, the company announced that there are also news for the itinerary of Costa Fascinosa, famous cruise ship developed by Fincantieri's Marghera shipyard in Venice based on Concordia - class design and launched in 2011, which in one week will visit four islands in Greece, Italy and Malta.
These destinations will be Argostoli, an idyllic resort nestled in a long, picturesque inlet on the west coast of the island of Kefalonia, part of a Greek archipelago in the Ionian Sea known and nicknamed as the Island of the Turtles and Mykonos, pearl of the Cyclades islands in the Aegean Sea, known for its party atmosphere
The two other Mediterranean destinations will be Sicily with Catania, ancient port city on the eastern coast of the island at foot of Mount Etna highlighted by its stupendous baroque architecture and Valletta capital of the island nation of Malta characterised by a blend of 16th century buildings erected by the Knights Hospitallers and buildings in the Moorish style.
The itinerary also includes a visit to Taranto, famous Italian coastal centre in Apulia, located in the Ionian Sea on the gulf of the same name, nicknamed the City of the two Seas and Athens, the Hellenic capital, cradle of the ancient Greek civilization dominated by 5th century BC iconic landmarks from where it will also be possible to embark to start the cruise.
As for Costa Smeralda, class and stylish eighth largest cruise ship launched in 2019 and Costa Toscana built in 2021 designed to offer a mix of comfort, technology and care will be positioned in the Western Mediterranean with departures from the Ligurian ports of Savona and Genoa respectively.
As far as the North Sea is concerned, the two ships that will sail in this grographic area of Northern Europe will be Costa Favolosa based on the Concordia -class design developed by Fincantieri in Marghera shipyard, launched in 2010 and Costa Diadema launched in 2013 that upon its completion was the largest ship under the Italian flag.
