Mallorca – Spain | III Sustainable Destinations Summit – From 17th to 18th October 2024

 

Majorca, the largest of the Balearic Islands part of Spain in the Medterranean Sea, well known for its stunning beaches, sheltered coves, limestone mountains, highlighted by Moorish and Roman remains will be the venue for the III Sustainable Destinations Summit which will take place from 17th to 18th October 2024.

This very important event promoting the future of sustainable tourism with the participation of international leaders is organized by the Consell de Mallorca in collaboration with UN Tourism, the World Tourism Organization will be held at Hotel Zoetry Mallorca, luxury accommodation hosted in an impressive 14th – century country house located in the countryside in the southeast Mallorca.

This very important international meeting will bring together experts, prominent decision-makers, opinion leaders of tourism and related sectors with a common goal, namely to advance as allies towards a more sustainable future not only in tourism but in all social and economic areas.

The Summit program has been designed to address the challenges and opportunities that tourist destinations have to face in their transformation towards sustainability, it is divided into several panels and interventions led by top representatives of realities of great international importance with the presence of Tourist Boards, associations and companies.

During the two days of the event there will be round tables, interviews and keynote speeches, activities that will deepen key themes favoring constructive dialogues and cooperation among participants.

The President of the Regional Government of the Balearic Islands, Marga Prohens, and the President of the Consell de Mallorca, Llorenç Galmens, will open the Summit with the Executive Director of Tourism of the United Nations, Zoritsa Urosevic, who will introduce the event with a welcome speech.

The Executive Minister of Tourism Marcial Rodriguez will inaugurate the second day of the event which will see a presentation by the CEO and Co-Founder of Totem Branding Andy Stalman with the participation as speaker of the President of the United Nations Committee on Tourism and Tourism Sustainability Gustavo Alvarado Chavel.
