Minor Hotels, international hotel owner, operator, and investor headquartered in Bangkok - Thailand founded in 1978 by the American - born Thai businessman William Heinecke entered in the luxury hospitality in 2001 and Ares Management announced that in the last quarter of 2025 the NH Collections brand will debut in the iconic Baa Atoll in the Maldives with the transformation of the Reethi Beach Resort.
The
resort, which will be the group's second hotel in the Maldives according to the
plans coordinated by the hotel group, will remain open until 25th April 2025 and
will be transformed over the next six months and then open in the last quarter of the year
and will be inaugurated under the new name NH Collection Maldives Reethi Resort.
The collaboration that defines this transaction is developed with Ares Management Corporation , a global alternative investment group operating in the credit, private equity and real estate markets founded in 1997 and headquartered in Los Angeles – California - U.S.
The future hotel will be the result of the transformation of today's Reethi Beach Resort located in the west of the Maldives atoll series and it consists of 75 islands of which 13 are inhabited in the exotic Hanirafu Bay world renowned as the largest manta ray feeding hotspot and being a nursery ground for grey sharks 35 minutes by seaplane from the airport Velana International of Malé.
This renovation will be the most significant in the resort's 25-year history and will include improvements to facilities, villas, restaurants while preserving the natural beauty of the resort.
The hotel located in the middle of a verdant island will provide 129 fully equipped rooms with a combination of beach and water villas tailored to the needs of the guests.
In the future hospitality complex there will be 10 dining options, Spa, badminton, squash and tennis courts, swimming pools, with various opportunities to practice water activities on the stunning coral reefs of Baa including scuba diving, snorkeling and fishing among others.
