Minor Hotels, international hotel operator, owner and investor founded in 1978 aqnd headquartered in Bangkok, Thailand, revealed the Future Opening of the Charming Anantara Thousand Island Lake Resort in Hangzhou City, China, the capital of  Zhejiang province, important centre sitting at the head of Hangzhou Bay in the southern terminus of the ancient Grand Canal waterway, which originates in Bejing.

With a planned opening in 2027, this future resort is the result of  collaboration of Minor Hotels with its Chinese joint venture Funyard Hotels & Resorts, hospitality company which provides luxury, premium and mid - scale to lifestyle hotels in a partnership with YouChao International Tourism Hotel Co. Ltd.

This future opening the hotel is part of Minor Hotels' strategic expansion plan in China, where the company aims to increase its properties from four to 15 in within three years, enhancing its presence in a market in continuous growth and a strong consolidation in the international landscape.

The property will be part of the Anantara brand, known for its authentic hospitality and immersive experience, characterized by its three distinctive brand pillars such as indigenous, expertise and authentic luxury, hotels and resorts thoughtfully designed to provide windows into the genuine modern character of each destination.

The location of the resort is Hangzou City is a very popular destination, with a relevant history and cultures, celebrated by several artists and poets since the 9th century and highlighted by stupendous gardens, temples, pagodas, pavilions, arched bridges and small scenic islands, also famous to host the headquarters of important companies such as Alibaba Group, Ant Group, Geety and NetEase among others.

The resort will be located on the banks of the idyllic Quindao Lake, the world's most island - rich freshwater bringing a new dimension in this famed holiday destination in Zhejiang Province, 22.0 kilometres from Qiandaohu Railway Station and 150 kilometres from Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport, providing easy access to najor cities such as Beijing, Hangzhou, Nanjing and Shangai.

The 160 - key resort covering a total construction area of 36.000 square metres will provide amenities like dining outlets oddering all - day dining, specialty dining, and Chinese restaurants, a spa, fitness centre, swimming pool, tennis court, a tea garden, and a forest oxygen bar.

Minor Hotels' Vice President of Development fro Greater China, Eddy Tiftik, expressed the company's enthusiasm about this partnership, highlighting the project's potential positive economic impact on the local community and the sustained development of the tourism industry.

The Chairman of YouChao Interrnational Tourism Hotel Co. Ltd, Tang Wenyi also expressed delight at the collaboration and the potential to leverage Qiandandao Lake's immense potential as a world - class tourism destination.
