Campina Grande, Brazil | Inaugurated its New Modern Convention Center

Campina Grande, the second most populous city in the State of Paraiba after the capital João Pessoa, considered one of the main industrial, technological and educational centres in the northeastern region of Brazil, with an investment close to R$49 million by the Ministry of Tourism inaugurated the first stage of its new, modern Convention Center.

The project seeks to position the city as a key pole for business tourism in Brazil with this modern complex thar boasts a constructed area of 18,000 m², of which 13,000 m² are dedicated exclusively for congresses, exhibitions and trade fairs, established with the main objective to attract large - scale events that boost the local economy.

The complex includes capacity for 1.900 people, parking, heliport and a commerative area in tribute to the pioneers of the city with modern infrastructure seeks to turn space into a national and international point of reference.

During the opening ceremony the National Secretary of Infrastructure, Credit and Investment in Tourism, Carlos Henrique Menezes Sobral represented the Minister of Tourism Celso Sabino and in his speech, he underlined the strategic nature of the Convention Center for the growth of tourism in the region stating that the commitment of the Ministry of Tourism is clear, placing Campina Grande on the route of major events and this investment represents a firm commitment to regional development.

The Governor of Paraiba, João Azevêdo, announced that four large-scale events have already been confirmed, including one of international level and he declared that this demonstrates the immediate potential of this new Convention Center to attract great initiatives.

The state's Secretary of Tourism and a Economic Development, Rosália Lucas highlighted the transformative impact of the project stating that the Center will contribute to decentralize tourism and strengthen the municipalities in the interior of the state.

The Secretary added that business tourism is a powerful engine for economic development and this project is aligned with regional integration policies.

 With the opening of this Convention Center, an increase in hotel occupancy, greater commercial movement and new job opportunities are expected in Campina Grande with business tourism emerging as a key tool for sustainable development in the region.

In addition to its economic value, the inauguration was also a celebration for the community, the event featured musical show shows, typical cultural presentations and activities for children, marking the beginning of a new stage for Campina Grande.
