Hilton | Opened a New Hotel Under its Tapestry Collection Brand in Portrush, Northern Ireland, UK

Hilton Worldwide Holdings, Inc., American multinational hospitality company based in Tysons, Virginia has announced the opening of a new hotel under its Tapestry Collection brand in Portrush, attractive seaside resort on the north coast of County Antrim, Northern Ireland, UK.

This Irish centre is well known for its three sandy beaches, the West Strand, East Strand and White Rocks, as well as the iconic Royal Portrush Golf Club,  the only golf club outside Great Britain which has hosted The Open Championship in 1951 and 2019, and it returns on July 2025.

The opening of The Marcus Portrush Tapestry Collection by Hilton marks the brand's entry in Northern Ireland, a brand of independent hotels uniquely designed to reflect the local culture and environment, offering guests a memorable experience, well known for their vibrant design, excellence in service, authentic local food and beverage offerings.

The hotel is hosted in a restored historic Victorian building, which previously operated as a hotel and bakery from 1895 to the 1980s underwent an £11 mllion renovation which preserved historical elements such as original mosaic signage and a tiled façade, a development under a franchise agreement with Andras House Ltd, a leading property development and hospitality company,  established in 1981 and based in Belfast, Northern Ireland. 

The opening is strategically timed to welcome guests for the 153rd Open Championship, scheduled at Royal Portrush Golf Club from 13th to 20th July 2025.

The Marcus Portrush Tapestry Collection is located at 39, 41 Main Street in the heart of the bustling seaside resort town Portrush, a 4 - minute walk from Whiterocks Beach, 2 kilometres from Royal Portrush Golf Course, not far Giants Causeway a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Bushmills Whiskey Distillery and Derry Airport is 48 kilometres away.

The hotel aims to cater to tourists visiting these sites and those attending the golf championships and features 80 comfortable rooms with interiors that draw inspiration from the surrounding North Atlantic coastline, integrating contemporary design with natural landscape elements.

The establishment offers an Asian fusion restaurant named Nemesis, offering a menu that combines local and international flavours and The Heritage Cocktail Bar, providing a selection of drinks featuring artisan Irish spirits.

Facilities and services include a fitness centre, free WiFi, a 24 - hour front desk, express check - in and check – out, and luggage storage.

The property is the only internationally branded hotel in Portrush, positioning it as a significant addition to the local hospitality sector, a development that is part of a broader effort to enhance Portrush's appeal as a tourist destination attracting international visitors and providing modern accommodations.

The Marcus Portrush Tapestry Collection by Hilton is expected to contribute approximately £.1.1 million annually to the local economy through visitor spending and create over 40 permanent jobs.
