IHG Hotels & Resorts, British multinational hospitality company headquartered in Windsor, Berkshire, England, UK signed an agreement to open a 200 – room Holiday Inn hotel in Bengaluru's Electronic City.
The property will be located an information technology hub situated in Anekal taluk spreading over 800 acres Konappana Agrahara and Doddathogur, an area developed explicitly for housing the electronics industry in Bengaluru, the capital of India's southern Karnataka state, famous for being the "Silicon Valley of India" due to its prominent role in the IT industry.
The management agreement with Thanishq Hospitality, active company with operational headquarters in Ahmedabad and also presence in Kota, marks a strategic expansion in one of India's major technology hubs in continuous growth elevating itself as a prominent destination for business travellers.
This development is part of IHG Hotels & Resort's strategy to strengthen its portfolio in high - growth markets across India.
The new property will be the second Holiday Inn in Bengaluru, targeting different market segments within the city, a brand known for its welcoming spaces, heartfelt hospitality and reliable service that aims to provide a comfortable and convenient experience for both leisure and business travellers.
The hotel is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2029 and will feature 200 rooms and suites. It will include three dining options, four meeting venues, including a ballroom, a fitness centre, a swimming pool and parking facilities.
The hotel will incorporate the Holiday Inn brand's Opoen Lobby Concept, designed to provide a multifunctional space for guests.
IHG Hotels & Resorts currently operates 48 hotels across six brands in India, with plans to open an additional 63 hotels in the next three to five years. This expansion aligns with the company's focus on catering to both business and leisure travellers in key Indian markets.
