STB, Singapore Tourism Board signed a Mou, a Memorandum of Understanding with OpenAI, Inc., an American artificial intelligence organization headquartered in San Francisco, California that aims to develop "safe and beneficial" artificial general intelligence which it defines as highly autonomous systems that outperform humans and most economically valuable work establishing a partnership for Artificial Intelligence integration in the country's tourism industry for a future driven by advanced AI.
This initiative marks OpenAi's first partnership with a national tourism organisation in Asia, an event which reinforces the company in the interantional landscape and Singapore's position as an innovative destination that continuously pursues aolutions top meeting the evolving expectations of global travellers.
This partnership aims to support the tourism industry in adopting new and modern technologies responsibly and preparing for future developments in AI.
Under this Memorandum of Understanding, Singapore Tourism Board will be able to explore potential use cases to incorporate advanced tools and robotics within the tourism context, and evaluate their potential impact on the sector.
In addition, Singapore Tourism Board will explore the scalability and potential trials with relevant partners within the tourism industry.
Incorporating OpenAI's technology, STB will be prepared for new plans and goals and for an AI - driven future by laying the groundwork for the tourism sector to benefit from the newest and latest advancements in AI, allowing for new applications to flourish.
STB Chief Technology officer, Jordan Tan said that by leveraging OpenAI's capabilities, Singapore Tourism Board envisions AI as a key enabler in addressing productivity challenges and accelerating digital transformation across the sector.
This collaboration aligns with Singapore Tourism roadmap to prepare the sector for evolving technological advancements, laying the foundation for transformative changes in the travel & tourism industry.
From helping businesses boost operational efficiency to enhancing visitor experience through greater personalisation and engagement, these initiatives will ultimately encourage repeat visits and advocacy for Singapore.
