The Association of Tourism Journalists of Chile (Aptur Chile), group of specialized journalists in tourism, representing different written, radio and television media, from all over the Suth American country, launched the call for its ninth National Tourism Photography Contest, an initiative that seeks to promote the destination and national tourism through the eyes of travellers, citizens and photographers lovers of Chile.
This contest celebrates the historical cultural and natural heritage of Chile, and seeks to portray the diversity of experiences offered by the national territory. From the extreme landscapes of the north to the remote destinations of the south, photography becomes a powerful tool that make visible the country’s tourist wealth.
The participants can submit their best photos to the “Concurso Nacional de Fotografia Turística”, the goal is to highlight the landscapes, cultures, flavours and biodiversity of Chile, through the sights of professional photographers, amateurs and travellers.
The call is open to people over 18 years of age, regardless of their level of experience. Both professional and amateur photographers can participate, or simply travellers who have managed to capture a special image during their trips, tours or stays in Chile.
The three categories that connect with the Chilean essence where the participants can postulate are :
• Gastronomy and Wine Tourism of Chile
• Flora and Fauna of Chile
• Unknown Destinations of Chile
Images must be sent by email to : concursoaptur@gmail.com, with a maximum of three photographs per participant. The contest rules are available on the official Aptur Chile website : www.apturchile.cl.
The deadline for submitting works is September 1, 2025.
Winners will receive attractive prizes including trips, hotel stays, and tourist experiences, details of which will be announced soon. Honorable mentions will also be awarded, as determined by the jury.
The awards ceremony will take place during the month of October, within the framework of the renowned VYVA tourism fair, on a day and time to be determined.
The President of Aptur Chile, Dalma Díaz highlighted the importance of this event stating that this traditional competition aims to highlight the landscapes, cultures, communities, traditions, and unforgettable moments that enrich the country’s tourism identity from Arica to Magallanes, including the island territory.
With the support of Sernatur, Marca Chile and the Association of Professional Photographers of Chile, Aptur Chile reaffirms its commitment to the development of responsible tourism, culture, and specialized communication.
