Dubai, UAE | Unveiled the Launch of an AI - Powered Trackless Tram Marking a Major Step in the City’s Smart Mobility Ambitions

Dubai, a city and emirate in the UAE, located on a creek on the southeastern coast of the Persian Gulf in the Arabian Peninsula, a centre with a very dynamic economy, highlighted by ultramodern architecture, luxury shopping, upscale hotels, and a very lively scene, has unveiled the launch of an AI - powered trackless tram, marking a major step in the city’s smart mobility ambitions. 

The Emirate introduced this new artificial intelligence - powered vehicle during GITEX 2025, a global exhibition that took place from 13th to 17th October 2025 at Dubai World Trade Centre, an event showcased tech giants and innovative startups in the fields of AI, Cybersecurity, Mobility, Sustainable Tech, and more.

The AI tram operates autonomously without traditional rail infrastructure, using advanced artificial intelligence and Internet of Things (IoT) systems to navigate designated routes. Aimed at redefining urban mobility in the city, this innovative vehicle with the support of technology promises to reduce congestion, improve transport efficiency, and enhance overall quality of life in Dubai.

Presented by city’s Roads Transport Authority (RTA) as part of a showcase of cutting - edge transport technologies, this trackless tram is one of 11 smart transport initiative introduced by the RTA at this year’s GITEX. 

Dubai’s authorities highlighted that the launch of this tram powered by Artificial Intelligence forms part of the city and emirate’s broader vision to become a global leader in smart mobility and innovation - driven infrastructure.
