Minor Hotels, an international operator, investor, and owner in the hospitality industry, a company founded in 1978 and based in Bangkok, Thailand, boasting a large portfolio of hotels, resorts and vacation properties across the world has announced a strategic joint venture with Egypt - based SUNRISE Resorts & Cruises, a renowned hospitality company founded in 2003 and operates numerous resorts and cruise ships across Egypt, including in the Red Sea coastal cities and along the Nile in Luxor and Aswan.
The partnership plans to open and manage up to 50 new properties across Egypt over the next decade combining Minor Hotels’ success driven by consistent financial growth, evidenced by rising revenues and profits, supported by strategic through new properties and a growing franchise model and the presence on Egyptian soil of SUNRISE Resorts & Cruises which offers a range of experiences, including resorts, adults - only getaways and family - friendly options, focusing on quality, safety, and environmental responsiveness.
The agreement, signed in the presence of Egypt’s Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism, will cover city hubs and leisure hotspots including West Cairo, the North Coast, and Ain Sokhna, a town in the Suez Governorate, lying on the western shore of the Red’ s Gulf of Suez.
The vernture includes the launch of Minor Hotels’ flagship Anantara Hotels & Resorts, a brand emphasizes experiential luxury through a connection to local culture and environment, offering authentic destination experiences, and a focus on authentic service, and the management of seven initial projects across greenfield, brownfield, and operational sites.
In addition the joint venture will also expand into Nile Cruise operations between Aswan and Luxor, aligning with growing interest in Egypt’s luxury tourism offering and supporting the country’s long - term Vision 2030 development goals.
