Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts, formerly The Waldorf - Astoria Collection, a luxury hotel and resort brand of Hilton Worldwide Holdings, Inc., American multinational hospitality company based in Tysons, Virginia, positioned as the flagship brand within Hilton’s portfolio being used on hotels which offer the highest standards of facilities and service has launched its first property in the Nordic region, located in Helsinki, capital and most populous city of Finland situated on a scenic peninsula on the shore of the Gulf of Finland in the southern Uusimaa region, a centre boasting a rich cultural and historical heritage highlighted by superb neoclassical buildings and stylish, large squares. 

The Waldorf Astoria Helsinki formerly Hotel Maria operated by Hilton and owned by M&L Group, a Singapore - based family - owned investment platform is situated at Mariankatu 23 in Helsinki’s historic Kruununhaka district, known for its refined neoclassical architecture, especially around Senat Square, and its proximity to the Helsinki Cathedral and Market Square, providing guests with convenient access to local landmarks.

The area is a government and administrative centre with a mix of residential, official, and elegant buildings, characterized by its stately, grid - like street plan and includes numerous cultural institutions and museums, such as the National Archives of Finland. 

The hotel blends historic architecture from 1880s and occupies four preserved buildings designed by Finnish architects Evert Lagerspetz and Armas Siitonen. 

The property features 116 comfortable rooms, including 32 suites. Some suites offer in - room saunas, steam rooms, and private terraces with jacuzzis. 

F&B options include the Peacock Bar, which transition from a lunch venue to an evening destination for cocktails and light bites and a new restaurant is scheduled to open in early 2026. 

The hotel also offers Waldorf Astoria Spa providing a variety of wellness amenities, including a Finnish sauna, steam room, and jacuzzi pools as well as a fitness centre.

Guests at the hotel have access to personal concierge services and can use meeting rooms, including a ballroom with parquet flooring and antique mirrors.

The opening of Waldorf Astoria Helsinki is part of the brand’s global expansion, which includes recent openings in Osaka, Japan and Costa Rica, with future entries planned in cities such as Jakarta, Indonesia, London, UK, and Sydney, Australia.

Waldorf Astoria Helsinki is part of the Hilton Honors loyalty program, offering members benefits such as flexible payment options and digital check - in services.
