IHG Hotels & Resorts, British multinational hospitality company headquartered in Windsor, Berkshire, England, UK has unveiled the future opening of a Crowne Plaza Hotel in Budvar, a captivating town in the coastal region of Montenegro on the Adriatic Sea, part of the Budva Riviera, a centre that boasts a rich cultural and historical heritage known for its stone walls built by the Venetians surround the picturesque, narrow streets of Stari Grad, the charming medieval old town, sandy beaches, and a vibrant nightlife.
IHG ‘s decision to expand in Budva aligns with the town’s growing status as a tourism hub on the Montenegrin Adriatic coast, and part of a broader strategy to increase the presence of the Crowne Plaza brand in the Balkans, where the company currently operates 12 hotels across Bulgaria, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Slovenia and Serbia, with an additional 10 prooperties in development.
In Montenegro, the new Crowne Plaza Budva will join four existing IHG Hotels & Resorts properties, including Regent Porto Montenegro and Crowne Plaza Podgorica.
The new property set to open in the first quarter of 2026 will be located on the Slovenska obala promenade, a long scenic waterfront walk with stunning sea and mountain views, offering an easy access to the Old Town, and a wide range of amenities like restaurants, cafes, shops, and water sports facilities, a prime tourist area near the City Marina and approximately 70 metres from the Adriatic Sea.
The hotel will feature 81 comfortable rooms and a range of amenities including a destination restaurant with sea views, and a terrace known for its social appeal along Budva’s promenade.
The property will also offers modern meeting spaces designated for various events, from small seminars to larger conferences, spaces which will be equipped with the latest technology to support business needs.
The establishment will join the Crowne Plaza upscale brand designed for both business and leisure travellers offering comfort and various amenities, characterized by a focus on guest connections, modern communal spaces, and intuitive service created to meet the needs of today’s travellers, with its hotels often located in city centres, resort destinations or near airports.
