The Generation Essential Group (TGE), a subsidiary of AMTD Digital Inc., a France headquartered - based financial technology firm founded in 2019 has announced the acquisition of a hotel in Kuala Lumpur, capital and largest city of Malaysia, a metropolis known for its blend of modernity and culture, boasting landmarks include the Petronas Towers, diverse religious sites, a vibrant centre highlighted by a cultural mix of Malay, Chinese and Indian influences make it a very attractive destination for a unique and enjoyable travel experience.
The company announced a definitive agreement for this operation and the transaction is pending customary closing conditions.
The hotel is situated in Kuala Lumpur’s central business district, primarily known as Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC), a major hub for commerce and iconic landmarks like the Petronas Towers, located near the popular shopping and entertainment area of Bukit Bintang and contains numerous hotels and commercial buildings.
The property is connected via a link bridge to Sunway Putra Mall and the Putra World Trade Center, it features 135 rooms, a gym, a library, and a rooftop infinity pool on the 37th floor, offering views of the Kuala Lumpur city centre skyline.
This acquisition is part of TGE’s strategy to expand its global hospitality portfolio after the recent announcement of its entry into the United States and Australia markets.
Further details about the transaction, including the financial terms, were not disclosed. The completion of the acquisition is subject to the fulfilment of standards closing conditions.
