Minor Hotels, an international operator, investor and owner in the hospitality industry founded in 1978 and based in Bangkok, Thailand, is set to introduce an Avani property in Brisbane, vibrant capital and largest city of the state of Queensland and the third most populous city in Australia, located on Brisbane River, famous for its riverside lifestyle, outdoor activities and cultural attractions, a major hub for sports and serving as a gateway to other Queensland destinations, such as the Gold Coast and North Stradbroke Island.
Scheduled to open in 2026, the opening of Avani Living Queen’s Wharf Residences is part of a strategic expansion of Minor Hotels in the Asia - Pacific region, a new property designed for short and extended stays aiming to provide functional, contemporary accommodations for both corporate and leisure travellers.
The property will be located in the Queen’s Wharf precinct, a multipurpose residential and entertainment area rising above the Brisbane River that is partially complete and partially under construction on either side of William Street in the central business district of the city. The precinct is a hub that connects part of the city, this includes the Botanic Gardens, the Queen Street Mall, the Cultural Precinct, South Bank, and the Parliamentary Precinct.
The location in the Queen’s Wharf precinct places the property near the bustling Brisbane’s riverfront and entertainment areas. This strategic positioning is intended to attract both domestic international travellers visiting the city, a very demanded destination all year round.
The new development will include 225 one, two, and three-bedroom suites. Each suite is equipped with a kitchen and laundry facilities, catering to both short-term and extended-stay guests.
Amenities at Avani Living Queen’s Wharf Residences will include a lap pool, sauna, steam room, wellness activities, a grab - and - go - pantry and communal spaces designed for guest interaction and relaxation.
The property will join Avani Resorts & Hotels portfolio, an upscale stylish brand launched by Minor Hotels in 2011, focused on offering a balance of comfort and style for guests, particularly for whose who appreciate good design and value and representing a very performing brand in a market in continuous growth.
The announcement of Avani Living Queen’s Wharf Residences follows Minor Hotels’s recent plans for Avani Mooloolaba Beach Hotel which is expected to open in April 2026.
