The Indian Hotels Company Limited, a hospitality firm part of Tata Group and based in Mumbai has unveiled the development of a new Tree of Life Resort in Sakaleshpur or Sakleshpur a small, charming town located on the foothills of the Western Ghats mountain range, in India’s Karnataka state.
Sakaleshpur is a very captivating destination, surrounded by slopes covered with tea, coffee and spices plantations, dominated by the Jenukallu Gudda Peak that offers unique vistas stretching as far as the Arabian Sea and highlighted by the 18th – century Manjarabad Fort, Kaginanahare Fort, Kaginahare Forest ruins and trails lead to biodiverse Bisle Reserve, as well as other sites popular for heritage, trekking and plantation tourism.
The project in partnership is with Mystica Retreats LLP, a firm with extensive experience in infrastructure and hospitality based in Bengaluru and is part of The Indian Hotels Company Limited’s strategy to expand its presence in the state of Karnataka.
The future resort is designed to meet growing demand for experiential, boutique stays in the region, which is becoming an increasingly, popular destination for tourism.
The property will feature 40 rooms, an all-day - dining restaurant, a bar, a swimming pool, a treatment room, and a yoga space. Additionally, the resort will offer curated experiences for guests seeking nature, peace and tranquillity.
The establishment will join Tree of Life Resorts & Hotels, a collection of boutique properties in India, acquired by Ambuja Neotia Group and managed by IHCL, offering tranquil, experiential stays in serene, offbeat locations across India, focusing on authentic local experience, wellness, and nature escapes, with plans to expand significantly. They provide curated getaways from city life, featuring unique properties from villas to resorts in places like Gujarat, Rajassthan, and Uttarakhand among others.
With the addition of this resort, The Indians Hotels Company Limited will operate 34 properties in the state, 19 of which are currently under development.
