Mexico | Launched the “Mexico Invita” App, Featuring Over 290 Routes to Promote the Country Ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup

Mexico has launched the “Mexico Invita” app, a comprehensive mobile guide for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Developed by the Mexican Secretariat of Tourism (Sectur) and the Digital Transformation Agency, the free application created to promote the country as a leading tourist destination, features over 290 routes, match schedules, live updates, and location, as well as specific travel logistics for host cities; Mexico City, Guadalajara, and Monterrey. 

 The “Mexico Invita” application is available in both English and Spanish and is designed to distribute the economic benefits of the tournament across all 32 Mexican states. 

With just a few days to go before the start of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the Federal Secretary of Tourism Josefina Rodríguez Zamora and the head of the Digital Transformation and Telecommunications Agency, José Antonio Peña Merino, presented this new platform that will put Mexico’s entire tourism and cultural offer in the hands of users, as well as various mobility options towards the maximum football event.  

During the presentation, the head of Sectur pointed out that “Mexico Invita” represents a tourist service tool that will allow planning trips in a simple and accessible way, with the case of booking tickets for the Mayan Train, as well as integrating the tourist and cultural offer, such as museums and archaeological sites, throughout the country and the three World Cup venues: Mexico City, Guadalajara and Monterrey. 

The official said that this application will allow visitors to learn about more than 290 routes, discover recommendations about the Mexican Magical Towns and also access useful information to travel the country in a safer, more practical and connected way. 

In addition the Secretary of Tourism added that the platform will also incorporate mobility services, emergency telephone numbers and contact with “Ángeles Verdes (Green Angels), with the purpose of strengthening the attention to national and international tourists during the great sporting event.

The head of the Digital Transformation and Telecommunications Agency said that the app not only offers the obvious and general services that a person visiting Mexico would require, but also the possibility of exploring inside and outside the host cities all the possibilities of cultural, culinary and public spaces that exist.

•    Tourist and Cultural Itineraries: Access more than 290 tourist routes across Mexico ranging the Maya Train to the country’s 177 Magical Towns, along with downloadable culinary guides. 
•    2026 FIFA World Cup Integration: Includes maps and mobility routes tailored for the host cities, as well as live match tracking, stadium locations, and event calendars once the tournament begins. 
•    Travel Assistance: Direct connectivity to emergency services, the “Ángeles Verdes” roadside assistance program for tourist driving to the event, and integrated sales points for Maya Train tickets.
