Ruby Hotels GmbH, a hospitality brand founded in 2013 and based in Munich, Germany, part of IHG Hotels & Resorts, a hotel company breaking new ground with its Lean Luxury philosophy with a lean organisational structure and concentration on on the essentials and aimed in creating a contemporary, affordable, cost and style – conscious customers, has unveiled the opening of its first hotel in Sweden, located in Stokholm, country’s capital and largest city.
Ruby Frida Hotel Stockholm by IHG is a stylish, music inspired property located in a strategic position at Drottninggholmsvvägen 18 near Fridhemsplan, just 10 minutes from Stockholm Central Station by public transport, 18 - minute walk to Stockholm City Hall (where the Nobel banquet is held) and about 40 minutes from Stockholm Arlanda Airport via direct airport coach connections.
The hotel is situated in the beating heart of Kungsholmen district, an urban island and central borough in the Swedish capital, famous for its picturesque waterfront promenades, monumental architecture, serene parks and primarily residential vibe.
The hotel is hosted in a transformed building featuring a 1960s retro - mod design now serving as a mixed - use development with hospitality, offices. restaurants, and retail spaces.
The hotel’s design led by Ruby Group draws on Stockholm’s music heritage and the creative spirit of the 1960s. The surrounding area has played a crucial role in the city music scene, including its proximity to the former Cheiron Studios. Interior feature Scandinavian modernism and vintage - inspired, with materials and furnishing reflecting the era.
Soundproofed rooms are available in categories including Cosy, Lovely, and Wow.Selected rooms offer private balconies with city views, while some windowless rooms are designed as quiet retreats.
Rooms features include beds with duvets, rainfall showers, bath amenities, and design details inspired by Stockholm’s creative heritage.
Ruby Frida Hotel Stockholm by IHG features social spaces, a bar serving cocktails and barista coffee, a rooftop terrace, and music - themed amenities, including curated sound programs, live evening acts, and in - room Marshall amplifiers and Bluetooth speakers. The building’s mixed - use setting provides guests with access to a range of facilities within the development.
