Puerto Plata – Dominican Republic | Ocean World and Amber Cove Strive to Strengthen the Destination's Tourism Industry

 

Ocean World leading specialists in cruise holidays with 30 years experience in the industry and Amber Cove, cruise terminal in Puerto Plata which encompasses 30 acres of waterfront property including lodging and retail stores with the support of the Carnival Corporation Care Team, British and American cruise operators with a combined fleet of over ninety vessels across nine cruise line brands have focused on continuing to strengthen the cruise industry in the Dominican Republic's Puerto Plata destination.

Puerto Plata tucked away on the north coast of the island Hispaniola is one of the cities with greatest tourist activities in the country where its largest source of employment is hospitality and tourist services also being the only city in the Caribbean to have two high - level cruise ports, boasting spectacular beaches, magnificent turquoise water and a lush tropical flora making it one of the hottest destinations on this dreamy island paradise.

The activity was aimed at its collaborators and professionals in the cruise industry with their related activities with an in-person training that took place on 09th and 10th September in the Grand Hall of Ocean World.

The event saw the participation of 260 employees of the sector who were able to participate in two levels of training divided into morning sections focused on general training while the afternoon sections of more advanced level focused essentially on the resolution and simulation of real cases.

Guests of the convening entities were Ocean World Sustainability Director Birgitt Heinsen and Amber Cove Port Manager Sharon Mei who underlined the importance of continuing to strengthen Puerto Plata's tourism value chain by training employees towards a fundamental vision of solidarity, empathetic and responsible work.

The message that the two CEOs expressed is exemplified in the quality of a tourist destination that depends on all actors involved with a commitment to instill this vision in the teams and beyond them open this training to tour operators, shop traders, corporations and the entire value chain of the destination to continue to strengthen the common goal and make it an increasingly competitive destination.

The training sessions were led by Carnival Cruise Line Care Team Family Support specialists Vladimir Lindor and Christian Miranda who explained to the cruise industry employees who participated in the workshop the importance of familiarizing themselves with the responsibilities and functions of a first contact assistance in order to convey trust and security to customers.

In this workshop, relevant aspects were discussed including how to provide emotional and logistical support during a crisis or accident, how to deal with situations, what to do, how to meet basic essential needs, how to create a supportive environment capable of offering compassionate care and logistical support in the midst of eventualities, to passengers but also to employees and crew members both at sea during navigation and on land.

MICAS – Valletta | Malta's First Museum of Contemporary Art to Open its Doors in October 2024

 

Malta, splendid archipelago and state in the central Mediterranean between Sicily and the North African coast, a country with a geostrategic importance known for its numerous sites related to a succession of rulers will have a new tourist attraction called Malta International Contemporary Arts Space, MICAS, the first contemporary art museum that will open its doors in October 2024.

Malta, the country's first museum dedicated exclusively to this type of art will be opened in the major centre of the country, Valletta, the southernmost capital of Europe located between to the east to the Grand Harbour and Marsamxett Harbour to the west, a city with a rich historical and cultural heritage with a commercial centre highlighted by bars,dining, cafés and shopping life.

This new cultural platform has been carefully designed to offer exhibitions and exhibitions of the highest quality by developing original ideas in its concepts, celebrating diversity and developing relationships with artists and museums of international level.

After a long period of works and restoration this museum complex is located opposite the restored hospice, a fortress dating back to the 17th century overlooking the port of Marsamxett and the city declared as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

During their visit, visitors will have the opportunity to explore a multifaceted campus that houses 1.400 square meters with indoor galleries, outdoor sculpture gardens, fortifications, a cafeteria and a shop.

The inaugural exhibition is launched by Joana Vasconcelos, renowned Portuguese plastic artist with a career of about 30 years with an enormous variety of techniques well known for her large – scale installations who was recently commissioned to design the stage for Christian Dior's Paris Fashion Week 2023 – 2024 show.

The inauguration will present a core selection of installations focused on the domestic, along with three large works that relate to the contemplative side of human existence such as Tree of Life, The Garden of Eden and Valkyrie Mumbet.

Fátima – Guarda, Portugal | 12th Edition of International Religious Tourism Workshops - From 06 to 08 March 2025

 The 12th edition of IWRT, International Workshops on Religious Tourism, will be held from 06th  to 07th March in the locality of Fatima and on 08th March in Guarda with another appointment, a reference events for professionals in the religious tourism sector who wish to enhance the internationalization of their business.

This international workshop is a unique platform that brings together international Tour Operators from different continents as well as entrepreneurs in the sector.

ACISO, the Business Association of Ourém – Fátima which leads the organization of this event believes that IWRT is a unique opportunity for professionals in the sector to create new alliances, strengthen ties, share knowledge and explore new approaches to religious tourism, enjoying an enriching cultural and religious exchange.

The International Days of Religious Tourism are developed under two different themes, in Fatima, famous, central Portuguese town that's home of the iconic the Sanctuary, a Catholic pilgrimage site of enormous importance, renowned place of the famous "Capelinha das Aparicões" the chapel of the apparition that marks the spot where the Virgin Mary allegedly appeared in 1917 will be as usual the venue of IWRT 2025 which will be held at the Paul VI Pastoral Center on 06th and 07th March 2025.

On 08th March 2025, the Jewish Heritage Workshop will be held in Guarda, historic city situated in the district of the same name, capital of the Beiras and Serra da Estrela sub-region in central Portugal, the highest Portuguese centre with its 1056 meters of altitude where its splendid Sé de Guarda Cathedral stands out next to its suggestive medieval core.

The event led by ACISO has the support of the Municipality of Ourém, Turismo de Portugal, The Centro Operational Program, the Central Portugal Regional Tourism Entity, the Regional Tourism Promotion Agencie of Central Portugal, Porto, the North Alentejo and Lisbon among other entities.
