FLORENCE AND MARYLIN MONROE -FLORENCE WORLD CAPITAL OF RENAISSANCE EMBRACES MARYLIN MONROE IN A GREAT EXIBITHION, HONORING THE 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE DEATH OF THE DIVINE CALIFORNIAN ACTRESS IN SALVATORE FERRAGAMO MUSEUM UNTIL 28 JANUARY 2013


Florence beautiful capital of the Renaissance of the world hosts until the 28th January 2013 a great exhibition in the famous Salvatore Ferragamo Museum in honour of one of the most glamorous and beautiful actress of the world in honor of the 50th anniversary of her death.

The exhibtion takes place in the Salvatore Ferragamo Museum,in the charming and historical "Palazzo Spini Feroni" headquarter of Salvatore Ferragamo Company since 1938. The famous fashion designer Salvatore Ferragamo specialist in stylish footwear  and creator of one of the most elegant lines of shoes recognised and appreciated all over the world for their quality,creative design and magnificent style.The shoes by Ferragamo conquered the globe from Hong Kong to New York,from Paris to Milan,from London to Buenos Aires,Los Angeles,Moskow,Tokyo and all around the world.

Salvatore Ferragamo has throughout his brilliant career as  fashion designer shoes provided
shoes to great names of the culture, cinema, art, entertainment and politics including the famous Argentinian actress and politician Eva "Evita" Peron,the iconic Swedish beauty Greta Garbo,the two Oscar awarded Audrey Hepburn but also,Gary Cooper,Ava Gardner,Marlene Dietrich,the Indian Maharani of Cooch Behar princess of Baroda and consort of Maharaja Jitendra and of course the divine Californian star Marylin Monroe.The Italian designer from Bonito a small village of Irpinia near Avellino emigrated in young age to Usa living before in Boston where he studied and later in Los Angeles where he started to create his great fashion Empire.He decided to come back to Italy in 1927 choosing the city of Florence as his headquarter continuing his prestigious and distinguished fashion design activity.

The museum consists in four room displaying over 10 thousand of stylish shoes,a collection of vintage shoes,a section dedicated to handbags and documents about the history of the Ferragamo line and products.This museum is the work of one of the most famous shoes designer of the world,spanning in its rooms the fruit and magnificent result of his years of work as prominent designer from the 1920 until his death in 1960.

The Salvatore Ferragamo Museum organises this temporary exhibition in honor of Marylin Monroe,sex symbol famous all around the world showing the public the famous shoes that Californian star used in her more important films and during her glamorous life who created the myth of the actress of Los Angeles.

The exibhition offers you the opportunity to enjoy apart the famous and stylish shoes the actress used,clothes the Californian star used in her most popular movies and a wide range of pictures,photographs and documentation in honor of this so famous and emblematic Cinema  icon who conquered the world.
