La Coruña, captivating port city located on a scenic promontory in the region of Galicia in the north-west of Spain, with its magnificent highlights such as the Tower of Hercules, the Roman Lighthouse and the fascinating medieval old town and the scenic arcades of Plaza de Maria Pita surrounded by charming narrow pedestrian alleys celebrates the XXVIII edition of the Feria de las Maravillas, the Fair of Wonders on July 24th which will be held in the old town in the historic Plaza de Azcárraga.
This event originates from the historic Feria Franca of the sixteenth century and was resumed in 1993 as a medieval fair and will have a very wide gastronomic and leisure offer with five days of different free activities for all audiences and ages.
The municipality of La Coruña organizes the event in collaboration with ACECA, Ciudad Antigua de La Coruña the Commercial and Entrepreneurial Association, a recreation of the Galician medieval city that has great roots for citizens, promoted by the government for its educational work that allows visitors to learn about the origin of the city and its historical and commercial heart.
Musical, theatrical, acrobatic historical re-enactments will be the protagonists of the Feria de las Maravillas filling the streets and squares of the historic center, in this twenty-eighth edition in Plaza de Maria Pita there will still be Rincón de las Niñas with various activities and attractions designed for children.
On the 24th at 8.30 pm in the Church of Santiago there will be a medieval music meeting with free admission until full capacity is reached.
The opening hours of the fair are from 11.00 to 14.00 and from 17.00 to 1.00 on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday and from 11.00 to 14.00 and from 17.00 to 23.00 on Sunday.
