The Parador de Molina de Aragón, located in the municipality of the same name in the province of Guadalajara, part of the autonomous community of Castilla La - Mancha and capital of the Señorío de Molina – Alto Tajo region as announced by the Minister of Industry and Tourism after a visit on the place will open its doors on September 05, 2024.
The Minister accompanied by the Presidents of the Paradores network, Turespaña, Government of Castilla La Mancha with the delegate and the Mayor of Molina de Aragón, verified the good pace of the work in progress.
The total investment for the construction of the Parador which will be the 98th unit of the Paradores group, amounts to over €22 million with a contribution from Paradores of €1.6 million, an amount with which complementary operations are being carried out concerning the development of kitchen equipment, rooms, decorations and the artistic project of the parador.
The construction of this parador is a legacy of a
commitment undertaken by the government presided over in the past by José Luis
Rodríguez Zapatero in a plan developed to revive the economy of this
geographical area in the heart of Spain after the devastating fire of
Guadalajara in 2005, a tragic event that saw the death of eleven members
belonging to a forest checkpoint with 13,000 hectares of land severly damaged.
The newly built building in the upper part of the municipality integrates harmoniously with the natural environment and the local landscapes thanks to the materials used such as stone as the main element combined with the wall that surrounds the castle evoking the original profile of the traditional local houses.
The Parador will provide 24 rooms, 22 of the standard type and two with living room equipped with all services all with views of the Castle of Molina de Aragón.
Other facilities available are a multipurpose room and a terrace ideal for hosting events, a restaurant, a cafeteria and a Spa complex.
The Head of Tourism declared that this new Parador will certainly be an important tourist attraction and an economic resource for Molina de Aragón, for the province of Gudalajara and for the community of Castilla-La Mancha for the reason that in owning a structure of this type it gives an impulse and energy to the territory by projecting an image of tourism of excellence and quality, contributing to the territorial economic activity and the generation of jobs.
In relation to the latter aspect, the Parador de Molina de Aragón will lead to the creation of some 35 direct jobs.
