The captivating Rio de Janeiro, huge seaside city in Brazil, famous for the iconic beaches of Copacabana and Ipanema, for the imposing statue of Christ the Redeemer 38 meters high at the top of Mount Corcovado, for the Sugarloaf Mountain, a granite peak with cable cars to its top and its well-known Carnival with parades hosts for the eighth edition the Descubre Brasil initiative from 08 to 11 August 2024.
The event is organized by the Ministry of Tourism and other federal government agencies in collaboration with the Sistema Fecomércio de Rio de Janeiro, Sebrae, Sesc, Senac, the State Secretariat of Tourism and the Municipality of Rio de Janeiro.
All the Secretariats of State for Tourism will be present and as far as the figures are concerned, about 100,000 visitors are expected.
The event will take place in Rio Centro, a space of about 40,000 square meters where the federative units will be organized into macro-regions to present all the local attractions to the public.
This exhibition, as its name suggests, is a great opportunity for all those who work in the travel, tourism and hospitality sectors to discover the great heritage and infinite tourist resources in all the details that this immense South American country offers.
This tourism exhibition has as its highlight and slogan "Experiences of Brazil" linked to highly topical issues, namely responsible and inclusive tourism that promotes sustainable development with the main objective of launching a large-scale promotion of tourist destinations and encouraging tourist activity in Brazil.
All visitors will be able to explore, discover and understand the great cultural and natural riches of this great Latin American country with particular attention also to its history, memory, respect and social inclusion.
Debates and conferences will also be held at the so – called Knowledge Center where the Ministry of Tourism and other partners will discuss public policies in the sector and projects that promote responsabile and inclusive tourism.
