Merlin Entertainments Limited, British entertainment company based in Poole in the county of Dorset in southwest England which operates numerous theme parks and other tourist attractions, six holiday parks in 24 countries on four continents has developed a £16.4 million hotel on the grounds of Warwick Castle, a medieval fortress built on a former wooden fort by William the Conqueror during 1068.
On a meander of the River Avon in the county of Warwickshire the hotel is situated in the 64 acres of this iconic castle and provides more than 60 medieval-inspired rooms with experiential design features that include a rearing animatronic horse with a rider on the back of the entrance of the hotel as well as various talking historical portraits that interact with guests by narrating the history of the castle.
As part of the development Merlin Enterainments will plant 1000 trees in the Warwick Castle Park.
As an additional note, overnight stays at the hotel include a day ticket for the visit of the castle, evening activities dedicated to children, free breakfast and exclusive use of the medieval-themed restaurant.
