Honduras, Central American country with the Pacific Ocean to the south and the Caribbean Sea coastlines to the north, a land closely linked to the ancient Mayan civilization, highlighted by pristine beaches, a lush tropical rainforest near Guatemala, rich natural resources such as coffee, fruit, sugar cane as well a growing textile industry focuses on two fundamental highlights such as the well-being and safety of visitors and sustainable development, two very important points to relaunch the country's tourism sector.
As part of the cooperation agreement was held a relevant event which took place at the headquarter of the National Telecommunications Commission in Tegugicalpa with the presence of the Commissioner who chairs it Lorenzo Sauceda, between the Honduran Institute of Tourism, the main institution responsible for promoting, leading, facilitating and fomenting the tourism development of the country and the Secretariat of Security of Honduras, the highest institution of the State that promotes coexistence, protects the life and well – being of people, through prevention, dissipation and control the essential.
This essential project based on a solid and collaborative partnership provides for
strengthening the Government's commitment to the safety and well-being of
visitors and Honduras focuses with notable efforts on this point.
All that is linked the the International Code for the protection of Tourists, the first indicative right instrument for the protection of visitors, which provide a complete combination of principles and recommendations in emergency situations and the rights of tourists as consumers as part of the 68 meeting of the the CAM, the Regional Commission for America of the WTO, the World Tourism Organization held in Ecuador, event which saw Honduras' adhesion to the International Code for the Protection of Tourists.
For Honduras it was a signature step in the promotion of the country and to make the tourist environment more attractive by accelerating the recovery of tourism, creating confidence and security among visitors when they book a trip or a tourist service.
A further action was the drafting of a letter of execution that provides for the purchase of uniforms that will be delivered to 400 members of the Tourism Police for a value of two million Lempiras.
The Minister of Tourism of Honduras, Yadira Gómez, accompanied by Secretary Mario Nuila, with the presence of the Minister of Security, Gustavo Sánchez, declared themselves highly satisfied with this strategic alliance to continue with the strong impulse to the tourism industry in the country.
Another protagonist was the sustainable development of tourism in Honduras with the strategy implemented by SETUR, the Secretariat of Tourism and IHT, the Tourism Institute of the country with the objective of strengthening Honduras within the tourist activity at a regional level developing and diversifying its products and destination
The main strategy for presenting a tourism plan is focused to establish a model of sustainable development with a philosophical and conceptual character that impacts social levels in the distinct regions of the territory.
