The Hotel InterContinental Rome Ambasciatori
Palace inaugurated a year ago located in the heart of the Italian capital on
the iconic Via Veneto has obtained the Green Key a prestigious certification
about international ecological quality.
The General Manager of the hotel Simone Farci expressed his satisfaction by declaring that this recognition rewards the strong commitment to sustainability and that although there is still much to do, this certification represents an incentive to continue on this path with greater conviction and dedication.
The hotel provides 160 rooms, 8 of which are designed for guests with disabilities who can easily access all the common areas of the structure, being designed without architectural barriers, has also decided to eliminate disposable kits in favor of refillable dispensers and the activation of daily monitoring of the level of waste produced.
A further initiative was the choice to use only EcoLab certified products, contributing to the protection of the environment without compromising the effectiveness of the important daily cleaning operations according to the standards of a 5-star hotel.
Other actions concern the kitchen of Scarpetta NYC within the hotel structure, where the executive chef Riccardo Ioanna focused greatly on the raw materials of the territory.
Another important initiative was to focus on suppliers more in line with sustainability values by choosing, for example, Acqua Egeria, a local company that since 2016 has significantly reduced its carbon footprint thanks to the change of packaging and the installation of photovoltaic panels in the bottling area and a maximum commitment also in the fight against food waste.
