Morelia en Boca – Mexico | International Festival of Gastronomy and Wine – From 11th to 13th October 2024

 

Morelia, attractive capital of the central Mexican state of Michoacán, highlighted by its colonial city center's with well preserved 17th and 18th -century buindings developed from the region's characteristic pink stone, picturesque narrow streets lined by historic churches and suggestive squares, famous for a renowned market for an array of agricultural products from its hinterland including fruit, sugarcane, beans, corn and also cattle will celebrate the Festival of Gastronomy & Wine"Morelia en Boca" from 11th to 13th October 2024.

This gastronomic event of great resonance at national level focuses on culinary values that magnificently celebrate the essence of family unity in all possible expressions in a lively environment that enthusiastically involves all participants.

From gastronomy to wine, Morelia en Boca encourages traditions handed down for generations, an ideal event to learn about recipes, ingredients and local stories that revolve around the culinary art of this Mexican centre.

During the celebration, a tribute will be paid to families who have distinguished themselves with merits in the gastronomic world such as the Cosio Pando family of Bodegas Santo Tomás or the Lugo family of the well-known restaurant Nicos, including the visitors will enjoy a period of documentaries that will tell the story of four more families linked to the gastronomy.

Special guests are also expected at the event as several Mexican chefs and from abroad as well as traditional cuisine experts who will come from all over Mexico who will feature in scheduled culinary demonstrations with presentations and live tastings where they will explore the family recipes, main theme of this edition with highlights to ancestral ingredients which can be interpreted and used in modern cuisine.

Another attraction will be a culinary experience that will bring together international and local chefs in the so-called "Med Table" with a unique menu accompanied by selected pairings available at an additional cost.

To brighten up the days of Morelia en Boca there will be culinary demonstrations as well as tastings offered by renowned restaurants of the state of Michoacán and a harvest of local products.

On the occasion of the harvest there will be a space specially dedicated to the exhibition and sale of local and international artisanal products from cured cheeses and typical sausages to sauces and jams.

Also of note are the wine proposals led by renowned sommeliers and expert oenologists through tastings of appreciated and fine Mexican wines and liqueurs.
