The Aosta Valley, mountainous autonomous Italian region with special status located in the northwest of the country, highlighted by unique Alpine landscapes, known for iconic snow - capped peaks such as Mont Blanc, Monte Rosa, the Gran Paradiso and the Mattherhorn among others, verdant valleys with rivers and small lakes,a notable historical, cultural heritage, a destination which offers a unique truly atmosphere takes its 2024 – 2025 winter season to another level.
The region, which has always been a renowned destination for winter sports and snow activities, boasts five totally renovated ski areas, preparing itself to experience an extraordinary winter season, starting with the slopes of Breuil Cervinia, a fraction of the municipality of Valtournanche located at an altitude of 2050 metres at the foot of the iconic Mattterhorn also known as Mount Cervino, considered one of the most renowned tourist resorts in the Alps, which has already opened its doors on 26th October.
On 30th October will be the turn of other ski resorts such as La Thuile, one of the most renowned ski areas in the Aosta Valley offering an international connection with the French resort of La Rosière within the famed Espace San Bernardo, Pila Snowland, another great destination in the municipality of Gressan on the southern slope of the central Dora Baltea valley and Courmayeur Mont Blanc, iconic winter and summer tourist resort of the upper Valdigne at the foot of the highest mountain in the Alps and the Western Europe, the Mont Blanc that shares access to the glacial ski run of the stunning Vallée Blanche with the famed resort of Chamonix Blanc.
The Monterosa Ski one of the world's largest winter sports which includes Gressoney Valley, Champorcher Valley, Val d'Ayas Valley and the Sesia Valley in Piedmont at the foot of Monte Rosa the second highest massif in Europe will be the last opening from 6th December.
The Councillor for Tourism, Sport and Commerce of the Valle D' Aosta Region Giulio Grosjacques said that the aim is to involve an audience that is not purely sporting since the Aosta Valley mountains as the slogan of the new promotional campaign says "porta a un altro livello", takes it to another level from hiking at the bottom of the valley to gastronomic explorations, passing through cultural circuits to large castles and sustainable experiences that focus on maximum inclusiveness.
The calendar of major competitions will in any case make winter sports fans happy celebrating numerous events with different disciplines.
