Dubai, city and emirate in the United Arab Emirates, located south the Persian Gulf, in the Arabian Peninsula, the most populated of the country's seven emirates, well known for its ultramodern architecture and a very lively nightlife, famed for one of the most diversified economis in the gulf based on aviation, tourism, real estate and financial services launches decisively on rural tourism,with a development plan designed to expand its tourism industry in master rural plan with great investments.
Emirate officials are focusing on the development of various rural areas located outside the metropolis, in the desert with the aim of attracting more travellers and diversifying the tourist offer with other interesting options.
The newly revealed plan, called Dubai Rural and Rural Areas Development Plan, involves an investment of approximately $106 million with 37 project in the countryside aorund Dubai with the creation of five service and recreational stations, providing a unique tourist experience not only for tourists, but also for residents, according to a publication.
These projects are part of what will be a broad and continuous effort until 2028 to improve the rural regions around the largest metropolis in the United Arab Emirates over the next four years.
As reported the Deccan Chronicle, a well-known Indian English – language daily newspaper that since 2004 it has been responsible for printing and distributing a facsimile edition of the International Herald Tribune in its region of influence, the projects of this great work will be carried out with the private service.
Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoun,
Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council of the Emirate said that
the initiatives are expected to significantly increase tourism in these rural
areas surrounding Dubai with an estimated forecast of 500,000 annual visitors
and over 3 million by 2040 along the Saih Al Salam Scenic Route, a master plan that includes traced road with approximately
97.0 kilometres of cycling tracks .
In addition to that, luxury camps are being planned in the desert as well as hot air balloon tours, kayak excursions and much more, all activities that will increase the tourist offer with an increase of various options in variety segments with the aim to increment the demand for incoming tourism in the Emirate.
A priority will be the conservation and the enhancement of the natural beauty of the region's territory, which will at the same time increase the opportunities to consolidate naturalistic and adventure tourism with hiking, trekking and other activities.
Other development plans include the construction of new health facilities, parks, kindergartens and athe Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoun commented that all these projects will undoubtedly contribute to elevate Dubai one of the best cities in the world in terms of quality of life and sustainability.
