Hidalgo, central Mexican sprawling state north of Mexico City, well known for its rich cultural and historic heritage highlighted by colonial, baroque and neoclassical buildings, dramatic landscapes with its Mountain Corridor devoted to ecotourism, outdoor activities such as camping, extreme sports, a state with a centuries – old mining tradition, boasting archeological sites through State Administration Leaders, service providers, Presidents and Municipal Directors participated in the presentation of the Strategic Plan to elevate Hidalgo as a tourism powerhouse with a vision for 2040.
The Plan with Vision 2040 in Hidalgo proposes positioning strategies in national and international markets, hotel investments and connections with wholesale operators to become a reference point in sustainable tourism with the aim of consolidating itself in the high positions of the Mexican tourism ranking.
The primary objectives are to significantly increase tourism competitiveness, which generates greater added value for the attraction of visitors, plans to work in coordination between the sectors involved, as well as analyze and apply successful policies and strategies in international destinations that have points in common or similarities with the State of Hidalgo, in particular on issues concerning sustainability, climate change and inbound tourism among others.
Linked to that the Leader of State Tourism Elizabeth Quintanar Gómez indicated that the Secretariat has opened a bridge of constant communication with the 84 municipalities of the State of Hidalgo with the intention of supporting the creation of the Municipal Plans for Sustainable Tourism and consequently generating actions in the dissemination and promotion of tourism.
In these meetings it will be possible to establish optimal methods to move forward within the same framework and direct the entity towards tourism potential.
As part of the strategic plan with vision 2040, the Directors and Presidents set the limit as to how much they want the Tourism State to help with a message that there is no separation, we are all together in the same sector, Spas, the INAH, hotels, travel agencies, restaurants, all involved in this noble activity named tourism.
