Air Canada – airBaltic | Strategic Codeshare Agreement with Convenient Travel Options

 

Air Canada, the flag carrier of Canada founded in 1937 member of Star Alliance and headquartered at Montreal - Quebec and airBaltic, the national airline of Latvia based in the capital of the country Riga, aircompany based on a hybrid service between low - cost and traditional have announced a strategic codeshare agreement that offers customers additional convenient travel options for flights between Canada and the Baltic States in Northern Europe.

Under the agreement between the two airlines, Air Canada's marketing code will come into effect on 6th November 2024 and will apply to a dozen routes operated by airBaltic, allowing travel to Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania on a single ticket.

These routes include Latvia's capital Riga, Lithuanian capital Vilnius and Latvia's capital, Tallinn from several, relevant gateways including Amsterdam and the Scandinavian capitals of Copenhagen and Stockholm.

airBaltic's marketing code will apply to flights from 6th November 2024 on two routes operated by Air Canada from Toronto to Amterdam and Copenhagen.

Looking ahead to the summer, airBaltic's merchandising code will be added to Air Canada's seasonal services from Montreal to Copenhagen and Amsterdam, as well as Toronto to Stockholm.

The Executive Vice President, Revenue and Networking Planning of Air Canada Mark Galardo expressed his excitement to extend the Canadian airline's long-standing relationship with airBaltic to enable greater connectivity and convenience for travellers between Canada and Northern Europe.

This new codeshare partnership meets the growing demand for travel between Canada and the Baltics and builds on Air Canada's global growth strategy by leveraging its extensive nonstop network from Canada to Scandinavia and major gateways including Amsterdam.

airBaltic President and CEO Martin Gauss said that the announcement of the codeshare agreement with long-standing partner Air Canada undoubtedly offers the airline's customers enhanced connectivity by offering airBaltic and Air Canada travellers expanded travel options between the Baltic capitals and Canada with a unique and seamless connection through other European cities and there is enthusiasm for a successful and long-term collaboration.
