El Calafate, town situated near the edge of the Southern Patagonia Ice Field in the Argentine province of Santa Cruz, well known as the gateway to Los Glaciares National Park, the National Park of the Glaciers located on the southern border of Lago Argentino, the largest freshwater lake in Argentina has a new, panoramic viewpoint.
A circuit od 350 metres of walkways on the shores of that lake was built to reach the panoramic point baptized Alberto de Agostini to pay tribute to the Italian, Salesian priest and mountaineer who explored and photographed the area, that looks directly at the Spegazzini glacier, an impressive sight which can tower as high as 135 metres, characterized by having a high slope wall that gives rise to icebergs of very varied shapes and colours and classified as the highest in the national park.
In addition in El Calafate, the visitors can admire the famous Perito Moreno glacier, one of 48 glaciers fed by the Southern Patagonia Ice Field located in the Andes system shared with Chile, the world's third largest reserve of fresh water, living all the great experiences that this Patagonian centre has to offer, enjoying a new attraction in Los Glaciares National Park with this viewpoint in front of the Spegazzini glacier.
A further attraction is also the Spegazzini Refuge, ideal place to eat, buy souvenirs and a great point from its terrace to take thousands of breathtaking photos.
