Bali, Indonesia’s famous holiday destination,
province of the Asiatic country and westernmost of the Lesser Sunda Islands,
famous for its beautiful beaches, lush green rice paddies, vibrant culture,
unique dance, music and art tradition welcomed a total of 6.3 million
international tourists from January to December 2024 and ready to develop strategic plans for 2025.
This relevant data marks an increase of 19.5% compared to the previous year and exceeding pre - pandemic visitor figures, according to the data provided by the Bali Tourism Board highlighting that Australian, Indian and Chinese travellers were among the main international arrivals.
In a bid to preserve Bali’s position as a top - tier destination, the authorities have set up a specialized task force to enforce the rules with strategic plans for 2025.
By 2025 Bali aims to attract 6.5 million international visitors, building on the island’s achievements after a 2024 in which it farnered widespread recognition, including being chosen by Condé Nast Traveler reader as Asia’s most beautiful island in the publication’s prestigious Readers’s Choice Awards, annual interactive program that invites the local community to nominate and vote for their favourite local business and/or professional and where the community decides winners as their favourite in specific categories.
The initiative focuses on vice - related activities, including monitoring online platforms , to prevent internationals from advertising or participating in illegal services.
Indonesia has pledged to position Bali as the centerpiece of its tourism industry, focusing on improving visitors experiences and implementing measures to manage the number of tourists effectively, with the aim of mitigating overcrowding on the island.
