Bolivia, landlocked country in central South America, featuring a diverse geography including vast amazonian plains and rainforests, tropical lowlands, mountains, warm valleys, high - altitude Andean plateaus with snow -capped peaks and the famed Atacama desert through its Government is developing an ambitious initiative coinciding with the commemoration of the country’s Bicentennial, to enhance and boost tourism at the national and international levels with the certification of 200 tourist destinations and the selection of the 20 considered the most emblematic.
The certification of these sites aims to attract international tourists but also encouraging domestic tourism, reinforcing the development of local communities and highlighting the richness and diversity of attractions offered by the South American country.
The call launched by the Bolivian Government invites the participation of all actors involved in the tourism industry, from entrepreneurs and tour guides to local communities and conservation organitazions.
With these initiatives, it is expected that this process of certification and an accurate selection of emblematic destinations will contribute to positioning Bolivia as a first - class destination in the South American region, providing a larger offer of certified sites to visit attracting a greater flow of visitors and generating opportunities for economic and social development throughout the country.
