Thailand | App Implementation to Report Emergencies for the Tourist Protection

Thailand, Southeast Asian country, a very demanded destination, well known for its tropical beaches, vibrant cities and town, ancient ruins, iconic temples displaying figures of the venerated Buddha and opulent, ornated palaces implemented the "Thailand Tourist Police" an app to report emergencies and developed for the tourist protection.

This app allows travellers during their stays in the Asiatic country to report emergencies by sending messages, photos and locations and connecting directly with the police via an "SOS" red button.

"Thailand Tourist Police" was launched in mid - December 2024 and it is integrated with the tourist police hotline "1155" operational 24/7, which support eight languages, and the emergency hotline "191" for rapid response to connect directly with local law enforcement.

The authorities of Thailand reported receiving approximately a thousand complaints through the app and hotline since its launch, including 200 emergency calls in single day on 13th January 2025, calls that cover incidents such as accidents, crimes and immigration – related issues among others.
