IHCL,The Indian Hotels Company Limited, hospitality company that manages a portfolio of hotels, resorts, jungle safaris, palaces, spa ajnd catering services, founded in 1902 and headquartered in Mumbai - India has announced the opening of a its new property, the Taj Cochin International Airport on 28th December 2024 with an inauguration ceremony led by the Chief Minister of Kerala, Shri. Pinarayi Vijayan.
The hotel developed in collaboration with CIAL, Cochin International Airport Limited, brings the Indian Hotels Company Limited 's total number of properties in Kerala to 19, with an additional three in the planning stages representing a significant move of the hospitality group to consolidate its presence in the state and increasing IHCL's foorprint in the city, providing guests with convenient access to the region's popular tourism spots.
The Taj Cochin International Airport is situated in Cochin, also known as Kochi, a major port city along the Malabar Coast bordering the Laccadive Sea, in southwest India's coastal Kerala state, recognized as key centre with a growing economic importance, considered the commercial and industrial capital of the state, boasting architectural wonders and well known for its bustling spice markets.
The hotel features 111 rooms, combining a modern design with the traditional Kerala's rich historic heritage, providing a variety of dining options include the all – day restaurant Vista and Nonya, which serves Pan- Asiatic cuisine, amenites including a wellness centre under IHCL's J Welness Circle Brand, a fitness center, a swimming poolm a banquet space of over 5.000 square feet, making it an ideal venue for corporate and social events.
IHCL's CEO and Managing Director Puneet Chhatwal, stated that, the company has a long - standing history of contributing to the tourism sector in Kerala.
The General Manager of Taj Cochin International Airport, Suresh Khanna, highlighted that the new hotel aims to celebrate Kerala's culture and hospitality with the hotel team ready to welcome guests to this luxurious property.
