Mexico | Launch of a New Network of Handicraft Stores Operating Nationally and Internationally

 

Mexico launches "Punto Mexico", a new project prepared by Sectur, the Federal Ministry of Tourism, the government department in charge of the nation's tourism promotion and development, appointed by the President of the Republic and member of the federal executive cabinet, consisting in an opening of a network of handicraft stores that will operate nationally and internationally.

The Secretary of Tourism, Josefina Rodriguez Zamora reported at a press conference that Punto Mexico is a project focused on the assignment of a physical space where artisans from different locations in Mexico can offer their products to the public free of charge and a store already operatating in the capital of the country, Mexico City, located on Avenida Presidente Masaryk, a throughfare in the affluent Polanco Neighborhood, passing along the north side of the Polanquito restaurant district that borders Parque Lincoln, where the facilities of the Federal Sectur are also located.

The facilities offer of each state last a few weeks, and then the exhibition changes to be dedicated to the crafts of a new locality.

The Secretary of Tourism said that he project includes that Ambassadors and Consuls will help the establishment of installations of more "Punto Mexico" in other parts of the world, referring to the stores that will be installed abroad.
