Oca Hotels, Spanish hospitality chain offerring hotels designed to cater to various traveller needs, a company based in Santiago de Compostela which offers a range of accommodations under different brands has strengthened its presence in Portugal incorporating in its portfolio two new properties under management such as the OCA Grande do Pezo in Melgaço, and the OCA Douro Valley, in Trás - os - Montes.
With the aforementioned additions, the number of Oca Hotels establishments in Portugal rises to eight, consolidating its commitment to the Portuguese market and its growth strategy and the company reported that both units reflect the chain's philosophy focused to offer unique and authentic experiences, respecting the environment and local history.
· The Oca Grande Hotel do Pezo inaugurated in 1901, being a symbol of luxury and sophistication during the first half of the 20th century is located in the territory of Melgaço in the district of Viano do Castelo, the northernmost municipality of Portugal, next to the Melgaço Hot Springs.
The establishment providing 60 rooms distributed in three buildings, after a comprehensive reconstruction it is expected to reopen its doors in the first half of of 2025 as a 4 – star superior hotel.
· The OCA Douro Valley is situated in Trás - os - Montes in the Serra de Bornes, mountain chain located in the northeast of Portugal, at an altitude of 1.100 metres in a territory beloved by enthusiast trekkers, hikers and bikers, offering one of the most impressive views of the region, with a spectacular panorama that reaches the Douro River ,the largest river of the Iberian Peninsula by discharge.
The Hotel will feature 49 rooms, of which 38 will be available from its opening, with a completely renovated design and with its opening scheduled on 1st March 2025.
