An abandoned Portuguese island, is set to be transformed into a theme park, it is the 50 - hectares Boega Island sits next to the border between Portugal and Spain on the Minho River, the longest river in the autonomous Spanish community of Galicia and also flowing in Portugual, with a length of 340 kilometres crossing the municipality of Vila Nova de Cerveira, around 1h20 by car from the city of Porto and just 50 minutes driving from the Vigo, important city in northwestern Spain.
The island which was previously a farming settlement, yet has now been unoccupied for many years boasts a unique landscape, a rich local culture and a strategic location, a site which was an agricultural village in an ambitious project will become a new theme park that will be named for its location Porto Boega.
The project is the result of a partnership between BlueCrow Capital, a private, independent and regulated financial company that operates in the areas of Venture Capital and Investment Advisory based in Lisbon, Obvious Gravity, Portuguese creative firm specializing in immersive experiences and Storyland Studios, a full - service theme park design and experience firm headquartered in Amersham, England – UK.
The aim is to transform Boega Island into a large leisure and entertainment destination with a theme park which will include attractions such as roller coasters and other riders as well as restaurants and shops.
As with any major park of this kind, there will also be a narrative that ties the experience together, with a group of characters from various cultures and this story promise to be very captivating and engaging for the visitors, providing an immersive and unique experience.
