The stately building has been changed from residential use, after years of abandonment, to apartments designed with the aim of being a concept close to the boutique hotel but at the same time to convey a feeling of home and with an inspiration which came from local materials, craftmanship, colour and light.
The style has been based on elements, details, lines, and colours of local architecture, combining colours with more modern elements that give character and personality to the whole using materials such as ceramics, local stones, wood and craft pieces which all together create a relaxed atmosphere, a space of peace outside the rhythm of the city and above all perfectly integrated in the charming, urban environment of Granada.
To manage the renovation of the former construction, existing elements in the building have been recovered such as the entrance door, the hydraulic tiles, railings and the original wooden carpentry that was very deteriored has been replicated.
Materials with a high degree of use have been transferred to landfill and will be reincorporated into the technical cycle as secondary raw material through recycling and reuse actions.
Today sustainability is a fundamental pillar, for that not only are measures sought to help mitigate the carbon footprint, with the hiring of local suppliers, but also the best advances in energy efficiency have been implemented, such as the management of 90% of the water generated and in the common areas, devices such as presence detectors and zonal dimmers have been arranged to help save energy.
The architecture and licensing project has been carried out by Arvo Arquitectura, famed Architecture studio based in Madrid with international experience on retail, hospitality and residential management and the construction company that executed it, Argonsa, company strongly consolidated in the construction industry both in the public and private sectors headquartred in Montoro,Cordoba while for the interior design the responsible for the project has been Cotta Studio innovative object design firm specializing in ceramics, crafting installations and tableware that challenges traditional perspectives and based in Madrid.
